Staff Application

Why, I do declare, this APPLICATION is the best thing since SLICED BREAD.

Some information about what it means to be on the staff (please read!)

1. Staff members must regularly attend meetings to remain a member of the staff. It’s okay if you miss meetings because of school work (trust us, we understand), but our system only works if the staff members participate (we vote on pieces and require a wide range of perspectives during discussions).

2. Since the staff does publish work in the magazine, staff members (even editors) must submit both a non-fiction and a work of their choice to be reviewed (everything is reviewed anonymously).

3. Although you designate which staff sub-group you would like to join (see question six), your work at Sliced Bread will be interdisciplinary most of the time (especially when it comes down to crunch time). And just because you’re a member of a sub-group doesn’t mean you can’t help the other groups out! (Keyword: everything here is flexible.)

4. Okay! GO!

Now for the actual application…

1. What is your name? (Feel free to attach any superfluous prefixes or titles… “Chef”, “Esquire”, “Lover of Layout”…)

_____________________________________________________________

2. What is your e-mail? (Not for stalking purposes, but so we can keep in contact with you.)

_____________________________________________________________

3. Would you like to be added to the general Sliced Bread listhost? We don’t spam on a regular basis - only when we think it’s something very important.

YES_______ NO_______

4. What year are you? _______________________________________

5. Do you have any previous experience, and what is it? (Don’t worry if you don’t!)

6. Every member of general staff is also a member of a specific staff sub-group. We have three categories of sub-groups (Publicity Panel, Layout Lords, and Copy-Editing Crew) which have additional specific responsibilities slash fun things they get to do. Which staff do you want to be on? What would you like to contribute to this particular staff (ideas, skills, home-baked cookies)?

7. Since we are a staff that has a section of the magazine aptly named “The Slicers, the Bakers, the Jelly-jam Makers” for us to publish our work in, we would love to see a writing or art sample (whichever is your “thing”). We love any genre or medium! (And yes, this is very required for this application.) If you are submitting this by e-mail, please attach it in the same e-mail as this application. If you are dropping it off in our mailbox in RC 001, please staple it with your name to this application. If you are emailing your piece but submitting this application to our mailbox, please notify us by e-mail!

8. What is your favorite genre of writing (be as specific as possible--- R.L. Stein’s Goosebump series, but only the prime numbered books. Well, maybe not that specific.)

What is your favorite type-o-art? (Dadaism, oil paintings, Lite-Brite creations…)

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

*Point of Information* (We are just asking this because we would love to get a staff of people who like different things—we aren’t looking for you to like the same stuff we do, but don’t worry if you do, that’s cool too.)

9. What is your favorite kind of BREAD and why?

slicedbreadmag@gmail.com and either Nathan or Katie or both of them will respond to your questions.

Always ensure you choose a method that is proven to remove skin tags
without causing adverse effects and scarring.
Touching your chin frequently will transfer these germs and dirt to the chin area which may result in acne on chin.
After throughly washing the area then placing ice on top of acne will support with the
swelling and pain.
